A large number of internet users with impairments can find websites difficult or even impossible to use because of the way they have been designed.
BAE Systems recognises the importance of complying with accessibility standards and our website has been independently audited by AbilityNet who are the UK's leading expert pan-disability and IT charity, specialising in accessible IT and web technology.

AbilityNet confirms that of 22 September 2004 The BAE System's site has attained the priority level 1 (A) W3C accessibility standard. AbilityNet recommends that the site is regularly reviewed for accessibility to ensure that the site maintains its level of compliance.
Not only will we do this but we are working hard to increase the accessibility and usability of the site in the near future. For example we have also, with AbilityNet, involved a range of individuals representing eight separate categories of disability including blind users, head switch users and users with dyslexia and learning difficulties. As a result our site is compatible with a wide range of approaches and adaptive technologies (including screen reading, text to speech and voice recognition software)
The user can now change the text size through the browser and safely impose their own colour preferences, as well as see accessible share chart versions for visually impaired and colour blind users.
