NAVY AWARDS BAE SYSTEMS $39.4 MILLION CONTRACT TO SUPPORT AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL AND LANDING SYSTEMS The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems a $39.4 million contract to support air traffic control and landing systems for the Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), St. Inigoes, Maryland. The company will provide engineering, logistics, and project analysis services, continuing a relationship with the Navy that started in 1972. Under the new contract, BAE Systems Applied Technologies will perform design, integration, test, evaluation, and maintenance of Navy air traffic control and landing systems requirements. Additionally, the company will provide system configuration management; systems installation and design; research development; and technical training and support. "We have a strong and long-established partnership with NAWCAD that has developed with this program over the past 30 years," said Bruce Hamilton, president, BAE Systems Applied Technologies. "We look forward to continuing to meet the unique air traffic control and landing systems requirements of the U.S. Navy." Work will be completed by October 2007 and will be performed by Applied Technologies personnel in California, Maryland.
