BAE SYSTEMS NORTH AMERICA COMPLETES $58.5 MILLION ACQUISITION OF CONDOR PACIFIC INDUSTRIES

BAE Systems North America has completed its acquisition of Condor Pacific Industries Inc., Westlake Village, California, a producer of sensors and guidance systems for the aerospace industry, following receipt of all regulatory approvals. The $58.5 million acquisition will strengthen BAE Systems activities in guidance and control of military systems.

"Condor Pacific's strength in inertial sensors and guidance systems closely complements our broad involvement in aircraft control electronics," said James Scanlon, president of BAE Systems Controls. "In addition, it enhances our ability to serve the growing precision munitions market segment." The Condor Pacific business, which also includes plant locations in Cheshire, Connecticut, and Heath, Ohio, will be part of BAE Systems Controls Sector, based in Johnson City, N.Y.

BAE Systems Controls develops and produces integrated flight and engine control subsystems and produces hybrid electric drive systems for commercial and military vehicles.

Condor Pacific supplies inertial products for navigation, guidance, and control, including STARS, a two-axis rate sensor for tactical missile seekers, and STAARS, a multi-function sensor for sub-miniature, low-cost inertial measurement units.
