Regional Aircraft’s customer base continues to grow with current customers extending their contracts and new customers signing long-term aircraft lease and support packages. This continued business growth results from the successful drive to reduce costs and Regional Aircraft’s ability to meet the demanding service levels today’s customers have come to expect.
Regional Aircraft’s headquarters and centre of Engineering and Support is located in Prestwick, with facilities also in Hatfield (Asset Management), Weybridge (Spares Logistics), Woodford (Customer Training and Engineering), and a facility in Washington DC (Support and Asset Management).
Customer Support continues to develop its business and products with a specific focus on driving down costs. This cost-down focus and competitive integrated support product will support the BAE Systems fleet of aircraft for years to come.
Customer Training, recognised as delivering a state of the art product, is centred on the Woodford facility and consists of two BAe 146 simulators, one Jetstream 31/32 simulator and an ATP simulator. The facility also houses six fully-equipped multimedia classrooms with two further specialist Computer Based Training (CBT) and Computer Aided Training (CAT) classrooms.
The Asset Management business is an acknowledged pioneer and leader in asset management with a trading portfolio of some 350 aircraft, being the world’s fifth largest lessor by fleet size and the second largest regional jet lessor by fleet value. Asset Management ensures the aircraft portfolio continues to provide a competitive product to the market place whilst developing new opportunities and markets. Freighter applications of the ATP and also, potentially, of the BAe146 are being offered to the market to meet the growing freighter market. Trading and Services through its leasing and portfolio management expertise continues to gain more mandates on non- BAE Systems aircraft types and is recognised as an innovative aircraft leasing and portfolio service provider.
The Engineering team, with its total aircraft capability, is key to supporting the in-service fleet and providing the long-term product integrity. This engineering expertise is being used to develop variants of existing products such as the ATP Freighter and BAe 146 Airtanker. The considerable expertise gained from the Nimrod MRA4 programme is being employed to win third party revenue, with success with a number of other aircraft manufacturers.
Regional Aircraft is, and will continue to be, a leading player in the airline industry drawing on its depth of experience to deliver a strategy of growth and innovation.
